Statement on International Shipping

Due to a recent global shift towards protectionism, shipping outside of Australia has become increasingly problematic for us. We have recently attempted to ship outside of Australia; here's what can happen.

Parcels can be refused entry into the destination country. Parcels can then travel in a loop within Australia until they're lost or returned to us. Some parcels may arrive in the destination country, where customs will hold your parcel pending payment of taxes, fees, duties, charges and tariffs. The mechanisms available to pay tariffs in advance are unreliable and difficult to navigate. We have elected not to use these services. This current situation applies to all shipments leaving Australia and going into the UK, EU, Canada and USA.

We have worked closely with our valued customers to get their parcels to them, but the recent outcomes have been poor in all cases. If the parcel is received, often the cost to the customer doubles. If the customer refuses to pay customs fees in their country, we lose the product, the payment and the customer. We also lose PayPal fees and the production time it took to build your order. We also spend significant additional time on admin, chasing tracking, talking with customers, processing refunds and navigating idiosyncratic foreign customs jurisdictions. In the end, everyone is losing out.

We are a small business and we cannot afford the risk to attempt to ship outside of Australia. We cannot make any exceptions. There are no viable workarounds. Until the global situation improves, we will continue to ship within Australia only.

Please check back from time to time. We will keep this page updated. When the situation improves, we look forward to resuming shipping to our many international customers.
